Knowing your spirit guide’s name may help you develop a stronger connection. Although spirit guides can take many forms, most people have one main guide – usually a guardian angel – who is present throughout their life. The other guides can be transitory as they show up for specific purposes such as life challenges, lessons, relationships or projects. They may stay for a brief time or be around for years. You can call on multiple spirit guides to assist you or they will appear on their own when you need guidance. They can be angels, ascended masters, spirit animals, elemental, and even extra-dimensional guides.
The difference is only the form they take. We can communicate with all of our spirit guides. They are sent through your higher self once you signal that you need assistance. Their presence is only through this agreement. Different spirit guides are on different planes of understanding and connection so they can let us understand at whatever level we are at in our spiritual awakening.
Do I need to know their name?
The value of understanding your spirit guide’s name is a very human thing. It allows us to fit that awareness into our earthly structure of relationships. Identifying something or someone by name helps us feel loved and connected. Because of our human experience, we want to be able to call our guide by their name and have that private, personal relationship with them.
Knowing your spirit guide’s name may provide you comfort or a conventional way to call on them, but you don’t need to know their name in order to communicate. They are here in service of you and your soul. They are always here for your highest good and living inside the vibration you are aspiring to and existing in. So knowing their name can be useful, but doesn’t hold you back if you don’t.
How do guides choose their name?
With Angels, they are an entity that exists for you and are created to be with you and for you. So in many ways, you name them in a way you can hear and feel close to your heart and soul. You’ll recognize their name on a soul level.
Again, spirit guides don’t have a need for a name, so the name they select is something that will be meaningful to you and assist you with communication.
How do I discover my spirit guide’s name?
To find out your spirit guide name or names, all you need to do is ask. Many guides don’t have a traditionally understandable name in our native language, but they will give you a name you can call them. In short, they don’t always speak English. This is true also for collectives of souls.
You can spend some time meditating and drawing in your guide(s) and ask what they’d like to be called. They will deliver a name that is usually something you can relate to and feels empowering to you.
When meditating, the name might just pop right into your mind and you hear it. Most people need to relax a bit more and get into a Theta brain state so they can stop interrupting thoughts that inhibit communication.
Automatic writing is another method I like. By having your hand do something, it occupies your brain enough to allow you to receive messages.
How can communicating with guides by name impact my human experience?
All spirit guide communication – whether you have a name or not – allows clarity, contentment, and peace. These allow us to be in the moment and do the things that give us the life experience we’re looking for.
By speaking your spirit guide’s name, it gives you a connection to that guide and the automatic gift they’re giving you.
Do I have to share my spirit guide’s name?
That’s entirely up to you. Some people do so freely. Others feel it’s sacred and part of their trusted relationship so they hold the names to themselves.
Your relationships with your spirit guides throughout your life are unique and individualized to you. And so your relationship with them is as well.
