Last week I visited Mayfield Park in Austin. They have peafowl on the property and I got to sit on the bench and watch them do their thing. You’ll see in the picture, that these peacocks had no tail feathers. It’s because it’s fall/winter and they lose them after the mating season is over. They will grow new ones over the winter and in the spring they will be calling and lifting up those beautiful feathers!
As I watched those peacocks, I reflected on the seasons of life. I love to pay attention to the seasons of business and noticing exactly what I need right now. If you read my ebook (after taking the Angels, Peacocks & Butterflies quiz!) you’ll know that in my system, Peacocks are the ones who take action and get things going. The happiest peacocks, though, are those that follow the rhythms of their lives. Before taking action, they make sure the ‘feathers’ are beautiful and ready.
Can you imagine a peacock in the wild trying to ‘impress a peahen’ with no tail feathers? It would be very frustrating. Same for peacock-types. Sometimes it’s time to rest, take care of yourself, do whatever you want and not worry about your feathers. When your feathers are plentiful and beautiful is the time to share them with the world!
This time of year is a great season to take care of you. Do something creative and introspective. Get clarity, have fun, be with other creatives.
Renew Yourself, to get ready to impress your Peahen (or in other words, whatever you want to magnetically attract to yourself! ) I’d love for you to do that with me and my creative community. I invite you to join my 5-Day Creation Quest. We are starting next week, Thursday, December 5. Check it out here.
Are you in a season to take care of YOU and look after your ‘beautiful feathers’? Join me in the fun!
